Microboards announces first desktop DVD-R duplication system
The first ever 4.7 GB desktop multifunction DVD-R duplication system was announced today by Microboards Technology Inc. Microboards Technology
integrated the system with technologies from Hoei Sangyo and Pioneer. Called the DVR-1000, the unit will start shipping December 1 and will be shown at booth S4058 during Comdex.
Priced at $7995, the DVR-1000 operates as an external DVD-R writer, a multi-drive DVD-ROM reader system and as a duplicator. The DVR-1000 operates as a stand-alone unit or can be connected to a PC. When connected to a PC, the system operates as an external DVD writer. The addition of the DVR-1000EX slave module, priced at $12,495, will allow the user to duplicate one to three DVD-R discs simultaneously.
The DVR-1000 includes the Pioneer UO8S DVD-ROM drive as well as the Pioneer S201 DVD-R drive. Both drives utilize a SCSI-2 interface.
