We have just been able to get some more information from Anchor Bay Entertainment regarding some of their upcoming titles and didn’t want to leave you in the dark. Here’s a run-down on the status of many of their releases.

Werner Herzog’s Fitzcarraldo is almost finished and Anchor Bay is absolutely proud of this DVD. According to their spokesperson this is the best DVD Anchor Bay has ever produced! It sounds reasonable, especially since we had the chance to take a look at the new transfer and re-mix of the film some time ago, and found it absolutely stunning. We will let you know as soon as we get the chance to take a look at the final disc.

The Django films are also almost finished and now include an interview with the films’ star Franco Nero, trailers, and an interactive Django game. It is a target-shooting game that should work on any standard DVD player. Other titles that are currently wrapped up are FM, Where The Buffalo Roams and Even Dwarves Started Small.

But for the future, Anchor Bay is also working on films like Positive ID, Mark Of The Devil 2, Cannibal Man and Anguish. Indiscretion Of An American Wife is also on the list, as is Duel In The Sun with the original intermission and overture. One of the upcoming highlights is Moonlighting in February. It will contain a brand-new commentary track by Bruce Willis and the star has even given permission to use his original screen tests for the series on the DVD.

Anchor Bay is also preparing the three “Beverly Hillbilly” Max Baer films for release next year. Expect Hometown USA, Ode to Billy Joe and The Wild McCullochs to be released throughout the coming summer.

For horror fans, Anchor Bay is releasing the Lucio Fulci films House by the Cemetery and Gates of Hell in March, as well as Dario Argento’s Inferno and Profondo Rosso. All of the uncut in brand-new 16×9 transfers, of course!

Since Anchor Bay is the market’s Halloween specialist, it is hardly surprising, that Halloween V: The Revenge of Michael Myers is on the drawing board there. Anchor Bay is trying to create a version of the film that puts all the deleted scenes back into the movie, so let’s keep our fingers crossed everything goes well.
