Multimedia 2000 is flying high with the success of F/A-18E Super Hornet Attack!
European sales of Multimedia 2000“s DVD-ROM game F/A-18E Super Hornet Attack”have taken off since its June release, giving the company its biggest overseas success thus far. The game is the first-ever flightsim for the DVD-ROM format, and also features a full-length documentary about the Blue Angels flight team.
Especially with the grwoing popularity of the DVD-ROM format in Europe, the title took off with a surprise.
“F/A-18E Super Hornet Attack!” puts the player at the controls of the newest and most powerful weapon in all of naval aviation. The F/A-18E/F Super Hornets are currently undergoing rigorous testing by the U.S. Navy and are not scheduled to deploy with battle groups until the year 2001, but extensive cooperation between game designers, aerospace engineers and carrier personnel have led to the creation of this accurate and highly enjoyable flightsim. The F/A-18E’s mission starts on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier. From there, pilots can take training courses, fly single missions or take part in a full-scale air, land and sea operation over the Persian Gulf or Aegean Sea. The game features true-to-life, intuitive controls, and a campaign and terrain generator that ensures a different mission each time out. The package also includes a full-length documentary about the Blue Angels, hosted by flight enthusiast John Travolta.
