For the first time in the DVD marketplace, a film will actually be released on DVD ahead of time of the VHS release! Universal have decided to release the DVD ersion of their upcoming release “Mercury Rising”, starring Bruce Willis, one week earlier then the film’s VHS version, in order to help strengthen the DVD platform and its appeal. Universal have been very commited to the DVD platform ever since they entered the DVD market, releasing an average of 10 titles in outstanding quality every month. With this daring step to give DVD a benefit over alternative formats, they once again prove how serious they are about the format. I am sure the whole DVD community will be extremely thankful for this open display of commitment and support.
