The Texas Chainsaw Massacre makes it to DVD
On October 6, one of the most influential horror films of the 70’s will make it to DVD, courtesy of Pioneer Entertainment. Coming as a Collector’s Edition, fully restored from its original 16mm negatives, this disc of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will allow you to watch Tobe Hooper’s classic film as you’ve never seen it before. Supervised by Tobe Hooper, the disc will feature a widescreen transfer and a re-mixed surround soundtrack, also supervised by Tobe Hooper. It will also contain a commentary track featuring Tobe Hooper, director of photography Daniel Pearl and Gunnar Hansen (Leatherface), 30 minutes of deleted scenes and outtakes, a blooper reel, the original theatrical trailers and television spots and a still photo gallery. For the first time on optical disc, Pioneer have also announced the release of Ranma 1/2 The Movie 2: Nihao My Concubine on DVD on September 29.
