It’s been said that there are two reasons to buy an HDTV; movies and football. So why not have both? Friday Night Lights is coming to Blu-ray in January from Universal.

The film (not the television program) is coming in 2.35:1 with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and will include audio commentary with Peter Berg and Buzz Bussinger, something called a Playstation Controller (which is not in fact a Sony Playstation Controller), BD Live, deleted scenes, scene discussions, player cams and the featurettes Tim McGraw: Off The Stage, The Story of the 1988 Permian Panthers, Gridiron Gangs and Behind the Lights.

The set will arrive on January 6th.
