Shortly after the release of Sleeping Beauty on Blu-ray, Disney is announcing their next installment to high def with a 2009 release of Pinocchio just in time for the film’s 70th Anniversary.

The film will be presented in Academy ratio with a 1080p transfer and will contain recently discovered lost footage to perhaps finally have a decent release of this wonderful film available.

In 1978, Pinocchio was the first film I ever saw in theatres. I look forward to adding it to my Blu-ray collection in 2009.
