Warner puts a hold on hybrid format
Everyone is wishing this format war would just go away. Hopes for multi-format players and hybrid discs are always up, but Warner announced a delay. The announcement in March that Warner would be making discs playable in both HD-DVD players and Blu-ray players has been appealed. The Total HD discs will now not likely be available until 2008. According to Warner, the idea is a valid one, but the timing is not quite right. According to marketing executive Steve Nickerson, “We’ll do it when it makes sense and when it’s right.”
