Prepare for a new “Scorpion King” movie on Blu-Ray and DVD in January
Universal Home Entertainment has added a The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power to its roster, bringing this direct-to-video sequel of the popular “The Mummy” franchise to Blu-Ray Disc and DVD in January. Featuring a cast the features Lou Ferrigno, Rutger Hauer, Barry Bostwick and Michael Biehn, along with a selection of professional fighters, such as Roy “Big Country” Nelson (Winner of “The Ultimate Fighter”), Royce Gracie (UFC Hall of Fame) and 11-time World Kickboxing Champion Don Wilson, the film will try to infuse the franchise with new energy.
When the king of Norvania is assassinated, the evil heir to the throne frames Mathayus and sends an entire kingdom of soldiers after him. Mathayus’ (Victor Webster) only allies are a mysterious woman and her unconventional father, whose primitive science may hold the key to disrupting the evil ruler’s quest for an ancient and unstoppable mystical power.
The DVD version will offer a Gag Reel as a bonus feature, along with the Featurette ”A Brand New World”, in which Director Mike Elliott explains how he brought a new approach to the production. In the Featurette ”Great Chemistry” you will be treated to an onset visit with the cast and crew.
The Blu-Ray version will feature the same bonus materials, but will further include a selection of Deleted Scenes and an additional Featurette, called ” Real Fighters, Fake Punches”, in which the cast share stories about the physically daunting scenes that pack an enormous punch, literally.
“The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power” will arrive in stores on January 20 for $34.98 as a Blu-Ray/DVD + DigitalHD Combo, or 29.98 on DVD.
