Anchor Bay Entertainment made surprise announcement this morning, letting fans of the TV show The Walking Dead know that the fourth season of the series, which concluded on cable only last night, will arrive early. Instead of making fans wait for six months or more, the studio will release The Walking Dead: Season 4 on August 26 already on DVD and Blu-Ray Disc, with pristine picture and sound as well as hours of bonus features.

Like with previous releases in the series, there will once again be a specially-created limited edition “tree walker” Blu-ray™ set created by MacFarlane Toys for the die-hard “Walking Dead” fans.
