Gigi and An American in Paris get some extras
Warner’s releases of Gigi and An American in Paris will be a mixed bag of good and bad news for Blu-ray fans.
First, the good news. Both discs will be loaded. gig will carry an audio commentary, the MGM Short The Million Dollar Nickel and the cartoon The Vanishign Duck making for a “night at the movies”. Also included are a theatrical trailer, the documentary Thank Heaven! The Making of Gigi and the original Gigi film form 1949.
An American in Paris will also be loaded with a Commentary pieced together from previous interviews, a short and a cartoon, the documentaries Gene Kelly: Anatomy of a Dancer and ‘S Wonderful: The Making of An American in Paris, radio invterviews, an outtake and alternate scenes.
Now the bad news, An American in Paris will not contain an uncompressed soundtrack, but instead a Dolby Digital 1.0 track, altough Gigi will carry a Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. Also Gigi will come on a BD-25 which will make space precious considering the addition of documentaries and a 1949 film.
Both will arrive on March 31st.
