The Passion of the Christ is coming to Blu-ray
Mel Gibson’s epic and controversial film about the life of Christ makes its way to Blu-ray next spring.
The Passion of the Christ focuses on the last twelve hours of Jesus of Nazareth’s life. The film begins in the Garden of Olives where Jesus has gone to pray after the Last Supper. Jesus must resist the temptations of Satan. Betrayed by Judas Iscariot, Jesus is then arrested and taken within the city walls of Jerusalem where leaders of the Pharisees confront him with accusations of blasphemy and his trial results in a condemnation to death.
The disc is a very complete package containing both the theatrical and less violent edited cut of the fil with audio in 5.1 DTS HD Master Audio in Aramaic and English and subtites, Biblical footnotes, two audio commentaries and a second disc containing a documentary on the making of the film, a featurette on the crusifixion, a photo gallery and deleted scenes. It should be noted that the second disc is in standard definition.
Arriving on February 17th, the disc will be priced at $34.99.
