Othello moves from Old World to New
Shakespeare enthusiasts will likely want to catch the upcomging DVD of Othello from
Shakespeare’s company created The Globe Theatre around 1598 in London’s Bankside district. It was one of four major theatres in the area. The open-air, octagonal amphitheater raised three stories high and held a seating capacity of up to 3,000 spectators. In 1613 the original Globe Theatre burnt to the ground, until it was rediscovered and remodeled in 1993.
The DVD will arrive on March 25th, for $24.99.
