The upcoming Platinum Collection release of Disney’s The Jungle Book is shaping up to be a pretty nice release. Here are some new details on the set coming in October.

The film will contain an anamorphic widescreen transfer for the first time in its slightly odd 1.75:1 ratio. Dolby Digital 5.1 and 5.1 Disney-enhanced Home Theater Mix tracks. An audio commentary will also be available with original production team members and current animators. The featurettes The Lost Character: Rocky the Rhino, Disney’s Kipling: Walt’s Magic Touch on A Literary Classic, The Lure of The Jungle Book and Mowgli’s Return to the Jungle and the documentary The Bare Necessities: The Making of The Jungle Book are included along with an artwork gallery and a game.

The set arrives on October 2nd.
