Total Recall returns as a brand new Special Edition

Following in the footsteps of the hugely successful “Terminator 2: Ultimate Edition”, Artisan Entertainment will be revisiting another of their early Schwarzenegger DVDs with Total Recall: Special Limited Edition.

Douglas Quaid (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is haunted by a recurring dream about a journey to Mars. He hopes to find out more about this dream and buys a trip to Rekall Inc. where they sell implanted memories. But something goes wrong with the memory implant and he remembers being a secret agent fighting against the evil Mars administrator (Rony Cox). He finds himself in a nightmarish reality of a Martian mining colony ruled over by a terrorizing dictator who can alter reality to suit his whims. The red planet erupts with rebellious mutants, the fire of an alluring and mysterious woman and a vicious and savage enemy.

Not to be outdone by earlier Artisan Special Editions, “Total Recall” will come packed with enough supplements to make any fan of the film happy. The film will feature a new rare audio commentary with Arnold Schwarzenegger and director Paul Verhoeven. The digitally re-mastered DVD also features the Imagine Total Recall documentary that takes you behind-the-scenes with the film’s stars, including a new rare Arnold Schwarzenegger interview, and special effects wizards. It also includes a special feature called Rekall’s Virtual Vacation that is a selection of mini visual vacations and relaxing images and the Visions of Mars featurette. The DVD is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound. Similar to the “T2” disc, “Total Recall” will be available in a round, metal “Mars” DVD case, designed to look like the “Red” planet complete with a bumpy surface featuring “the face” of Mars.

On September 18th, Schwarzenegger fans can replace their old bare-bones versions of “Total Recall” or experience the film on DVD for the first time. The suggested retail price on the Special Edition is $26.98.
