The thrill of home theater is now more accessible than ever thanks to a new
AIWA Mini Theater system that includes a built-in three-disc DVD/CD changer. With the new AIWA XR-DV5 mini audio system, all that’s needed to create a complete home theater set-up is a television. Everything else is packaged into this single AIWA system – DVD player, Dolby Pro Logic surround sound and the five speakers needed to get the most out of the Dolby surround system.

The DVD player built into the new AIWA XR-DV5 is a three-disc changer that handles both DVD discs and audio CDs. It offers parental lock, forward/reverse search, forward/reverse slow play, random/repeat play, an optical digital output and a 20-track music calendar.

In addition to the DVD changer, the XR-DV5 includes an AM/FM digital synthesizer tuner and a full logic dual cassette deck. It also features AIWA’s Multi-Amplifier System, with a 35-watts-per-channel amplifier dedicated solely to powering the subwoofers built into each speaker cabinet for the deep bass that is so important to a convincing theater experience. A separate 15-watts-per-channel amplifier powers the mid-range and high-frequency drivers in each speaker. In addition to the two main speakers, the system includes a pair of rear surround speakers, powered by a 20-watt amplifier, and a center channel speaker driven by yet another 20-watt amplifier.

Other system features include an electronic graphic equalizer with presets for three different music types (rock/pop/classical), an eight-band spectrum analyzer, a jog dial that allows a single rotary knob to perform multiple operations, and a full-function remote control.

The AIWA XR-DV5 digital audio system will be available in November and carry a suggested retail price of $825.00.
