Macrovision UK, a subsidiary of Macrovision Corporation of Sunnyvale, announced today that MIA Video Entertainment Limited will be applying the Macrovision copy protection process in the UK to their new DVD releases. The first titles to be released with Copy Protection will be “A Better Tomorrow” from acclaimed Director John Woo, and “Return of the God of Gamblers” starring Hong Kong superstar Chow Yun Fat. MIA will also be releasing selected titles from the best selling “Ben Dover” range.

Since its first commercial use in 1985, over two billion videocassettes have been encoded with the Macrovision copy protection process worldwide. More than 400 million videocassettes were encoded in the last year alone. The Macrovision copy protection process is available to rights owners in 35 countries.
