“Face/Off” is presented in an anamorphic transfer in its original 2.35:1 widescreen aspect ratio. The image is superb and flawless without even the slightest noise or pixelation. The overall picture is sharp and very well defined; shadows are solid and deep, with plenty of detail even in dimly lit environments. Colors are vibrant and absolutely faithfully reproduced on this disc.

The disc’s 5.1 channel Dolby Digital soundtrack is explosive and rich with a good bass extension below 25 Hz and aggressive surround usage. Although not quite a wide as the Dolby Digital soundtrack, the Dolby Surround track still offers a lot of bang for the buck with good spatial integration.

“Face/Off” is a high-octane action thriller by veteran director John Woo. Starring an incredible cast – it is a pleasure to watch Cage and Travolta taking on each others’ mannerisms and gestures. The film is extremely well photographed and edited and keeps its suspense up all the way to the end. This film is a riveting and very enjoyable cat and mouse game with some serious undertones.
