Adult DVD publisher Vivid Interactive has decided to release their upcoming title
“The Kiss” with a new technology, called “RentProtec”. It is a hermetically
sealed second skin over the disc that will give the DVD a longer life expectancy.

Developed in association with reknown disc replication company Optical Disc
Media, “RentProtec” is especially designed to make DVD titles more attractive
for rental, as it is intented to greatly reduce wear, tear and damage caused
by the stress put on rental discs. “RentProtec” can be utilized for all optical disc
based products, such as DVD, CD and CD-ROM, but is becoming especially important
in the exploding DVD home video market.
