We had mentioned as part of our VSDA report already a few months ago, that Anchor Bay have been eyeing “The Black Hole” for release on DVD. We now have confirmation from the company that, indeed, Anchor Bay is working on a 20th Anniversary Special Edition for the film, for release somewhen next year.

The 1979 science fiction classic stars Maximilian Schell, Anthony Perkins, Robert Forster and Roddy McDowall in a story about the spaceship Palomino, that stumbles upon another vessel “lost” in space hovering on the edge of a black hole. Strangely the ship is inhabited by robots and a scientist who has been missing for the last twenty years.
