Universal Home Video is presenting 'K-911' in its original 1.78:1 widescreen aspect ratio on this disc in an anamorphic transfer. The presentation is clean and razor sharp, without any defects. The color reproduction on this disc is flawless, nicely rendering the many out door settings, as well as indoors, also faithfully reproducing fleshtones. The image has a great level of detail from the darkest shadows to the highlights, without edge-enhancement or over-saturation. The compression has also been meticulously done, making 'K-911' a great and very natural looking DVD.
The disc contains a 5.0 Dolby Digital soundtrack in English that is well produced and integrated. The lack of a LFE channel is hardly noticeable, since the rest of the channels compensate for that quite well with their bass extension. Dialogues are well produced and always understandable and clear.
In this sequel to their successful 'K-9', Jim Belushi and Jerry Lee have grown a little older. Especially Jerry Lee, the German shepherd has a hard time keeping up with the fast pace of police work, but then again, nothing beats a good nose. 'K-911' is a great sequel for everyone who loved the original 'K-9' movie that even makes fun of itself at times. |
