Horrible puns aside, Warner Home Entertainment will premiere the family film The Astronaut Farmer to DVD this fall.

Charles Farmer is a former rising star in the field of aerospace engineering who is forced to retire early and tend to a family situation. Over the next 10 years, Farmer spends his time and money on developing his very own rocket ship, in which he plans to launch himself and orbit the earth.
As word quickly spreads and Farmer assumes the role of global folk hero, the federal government takes notice and quickly moves to shut the operation down. With the support of his family, Farmer is determined to realize his dream and prove to the world that anyone can accomplish their goals, no matter how unlikely.

As a welcome look back to DVDs of yesterday, the upcoming release will include both anamorhphic widescreen and fullscreen versions on the same disc along with outtakes and featurettes.

The disc arrives on July 10th with a suggested retail price of $27.95.
