MGM Home Entertainment is preparing a special edition DVD of the surprise hit of the year. Barbershop will make a rare Wednesday debut.

Calvin has just inherited the family barbershop from his father, a prize he didn’t ask for. The barbershop to him is nothing more than an inconvenience which he gladly sells off to the loan sharks. After spending some time in the shop Calvin begins to see the microcosm of the world that exists in the tiny shop. Maybe selling it off wasn’t the best idea after all.

The upcoming DVD will four featurettes, audio commentaries with the Filmmakers, deleted scenes, an interactive game, bloopers, outtakes and a music video.

Bring the fun home to start of the new year as Barbershop hits DVD on January 1st, 2003.
