The Count of Monte Cristo comes from Buena Vista
Buena Vista Home Entertainment is preparing the recent action infused recounting of the classic Dumas tale The Count of Monte Cristo for a DVD release this fall.
Dantes is a poor sailor with only the love of the beautiful Mercedes to sustain him, but when his best friend Fernand betrays him, Dante is thrown into prison and denied his only love. While imprisoned, Dante plots escape, disguise and revenge against his old friend in the guise of the Count of Monte Cristo.
With Dolby Digital 5.1 audio tracks in both French and English, this two disc set will feature the film in anamorphic widescreen. The supplements will include an audio commentary with director Kevin Reynolds a series of short featurettes including “ An Epic Reborn”, “The Pen of Alexandre Dumas”, “The Napoleonic World”, “Clash Of Steel”, “Sword Choreography: The Final Duel” and “Layer By Layer Sound Design: Edmonds Escape”. The disc is rounded out by deleted scenes and a theatrical trailer.
The set will carry a suggested retail price of $29.95 when it arrives on September 3rd of this year.
