After a successful six year television run, the fantasy television program Xena: Warrior Princess came to an end last year. Although the series won’t be released in full anytime soon, fans of the adventures will be pleased to hear that USA Home Entertainment will be releasing a director’s cut of the final episode “A Friend in Need”.

In the gripping Series Finale, Xena (Lucy Lawless) is summoned to Japan by a long-lost spiritual soul mate. Xena and Gabrielle (Renee O’Connor) face their biggest threat ever when they confront the evil Yodoshi and an army of 20,000 elite Samurai soldiers. Their test of strength, resolve, and friendship will be Xena’s ultimate challenge.

Presented in its original fullscreen the new cut of the film will contain additional footage not seen in the television release, plus thirty minutes of behind-the-scenes footage. The disc will also carry an audio commentary with director Rob Tapert and stars Lucy Lawless and Renee O’Connor.

On March 26th, the end of the series comes to DVD with a price of $24.95.
