The unique bluegrass music of the Coen Brothers film “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” was presented last year in a special concert. The successful event is coming to DVD next month from Artisan Home Entertainment

On May 24, 2000 the historic Ryman Auditorium was booked to offer Nashvillians an evening of sublime beauty. Label executives and soundtrack producers so loved the music of O Brother, Where Art Thou?, starring an extraordinary ensemble cast including, George Clooney, John Turturro, Tim Blake Nelson, John Goodman and Holly Hunter, that they brought it to life as a benefit concert for the Country Music Hall of Fame. Filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen loved it so much that they hired famed documentary filmmaker D.A. Pennebaker to record the show for posterity. The Concert that unfolded that night was one of the greatest musical moments in the annals of Music City.

The disc will present the concert in Dolby Digital 5.1 and will contain the songs “Man of Constant Sorrow”, “Clinch Mountain Backstep”, “Angel Band”, “Keep On The Sunny Side of Life”, “Dream of A Miner’s Child”, “My Dear Someone”, “Drunken Presbyterian”, “Man Of Constant Sorrow”, “Lonesome Valley”, “Wild Bill Jones”, “Motherless Children”, “Mary Jane”, “(Didn’t Leave) Nobody But The Baby”, “In The Highways”, “Hard Time Killing Floor Blues”, “Po Lazarus”, “Big Rock Candy Mountain”, “Blue and Lonesome”, “Green Pastures”, “Indian War Whoop”, “John Law Burned Down The Liquor Store”, “I Am Weary (Let Me Rest)”, “(Will There Be Any) Stars in My Crown”, “Red Dirt Girl”, “Down To The River To Pray”, “Hogfoot”, “I Want to Sing That Rock and Roll”, “O Death” and “I’ll Fly Away”.

The concert will come from the stage to DVD on October 23rd for a suggested retail price of $19.98.
