EZQuest Inc. today announced the delivery of its new Boa FireWire DVD-RW drive. The Boa DVD-RW can burn DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-R and CD-RW discs, and can also read DVD-Video, DVD-ROM and DVD-R formats. It can also read CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-Audio, CD-RW, CD-I, CD Bridge, CD Extended, CD Mix Mode and Photo CD formats, making it one of the most versatile drives on the market. The drive will use the DVR-A03 mechanism from Pioneer, which is identical to the OEM drive currently offered in Apple’s PowerMac G4/733.

The Boa FireWire DVD-RW drive ships in Mac and PC versions. The Mac version ships with Roxio Toast 5.0.1 for DVD and CD burning and includes one 6-pin FireWire cable and one DVD-R disc. The PC version will carry similar software yet to be announced. The drive will have a suggested retail price of $995.00 and is likely to ship sometime next quarter.
