The current Blu-ray release of The Gangs of New York is widely regarded as one of the poorer video transfers available. A product of the early days of the format, Disney appears to be making up for it. a new version is coming.

The new Blu-Ray version will contain a remastered print, commentary with Martin Scorsese, featurettes on cotume design, set design and history, 360 degree shots of the sets, a U2 music video, a Discovery Channel Special, a 5 points study guide and trailers.

Welcome news for fans of the film, it will arrive on February 2nd.
