The Day The Earth Stood Still times three
Fox is getting a little carried away with their multiple releases. Get ready for three versions of the 2008 The Day The Earth Stood Still.
Klaatu is an otherworldly being whose arrival on Earth triggers an unstoppable series of events that threaten all of mankind. In a desperate attempt to save humanity, governments and scientists race to unravel the mystery behind the visitor’s appearance. When a woman and her young stepson find themselves embroiled in the alien’s plan, they become the world’s only hope to stave off apocalyptic annihilation.
A two disc DVD will arrive with no features, but will additionally carry the classic 1951 version of the film. A three disc DVD will include the ’51 film as well as deleted scenes, the featurettes Re-Imagining “The Day”, Unleashing Gort, Watching the Skies and The Day The Earth Was “Green”. Commentary with David Scarpa and still galleries are included along with a Digital copy. The Blu-ray version will come on three discs carrying all the features of the two disc set along with a picture in picture track and a BD-Java game.
April 7th is The Day.
