As consumers continue to hold off on committing to a new high definiation player until they know it will be around for awhile, LG has officially announced the first combo player due in Q1 of 2007. The player will play both Blu-Ray discs and HD-DVD discs in 1080p. The Super Multi-Blue Player will arrive for $1,199.00 later on. One oddity of the unit will be its inability to play HD-DVD menus properly, but instead replaced them with alternate menus.

May this be the first of many dual format players.
