Final Fantasy VII lives

The video game industry is a multibillion dollar enterprise, but a fairly self contained one. Only occasionally does a game break out into the public consciousness. Finaly Fantasy VII continues to stir romantic adventure in many minds and the recent sequel film was welcomed with open arms. Now that film Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is getting a new two disc special edition with some very cool new extras from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Two years after Sephiroth’s attempts at mass genocide depicted in Final
Fantasy VII, a strange disease threatens mankind. With many falling ill and
the ruins of Midgar standing as a reminder of the sacrifices of the past,
old enemies rise from the ashes to seek revenge. Ridden with guilt and
haunted by his past, ex-soldier Cloud Strife must emerge from seclusion to
again defeat evil and save the planet from certain destruction!

The new set includes several features ported from the first release including a behind the scenes featurette, footage from the Venice Film Festival, trailers, deleted scenes, and a sneak peek at upcoming games set in the world of Final Fantasy VII. The set also comes with new features including a featurette of interviews with the English voice cast and a new anime short Last Order Final Fantasy VII. The set also comes with postcards, a script and a book of character bios.

The set is slated to arrive from Midgar of February 6th with a suggested retail price of 49.95 gil.
