The massive beast which is The Simpsons (400 episodes coming up quick), will finally reach the halfway point on DVD this fall with the release of Season Nine from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Season Nine – the 1997-1998 season comes with 26 episodes, each with audio commentary. The set also includes a sneak peak at the upcoming movie, a riff from creator Matt Groening, deleted scenes a continuation of the ongoing featurettes from each box set, illustrated commentaries, animation showcases, promotional spots, a sketch gallery and the ever present special language segments.

Season Nine will come in a traditional box or a Lisa Head (leaving Season 10 for Bart). The set is scheduled for a December 19th release date for $49.98.
