In rather sad news today, we report that actor James Doohan has passed away this week. Scotsman Doohan became most famous for his portrayal of “Scottie” in the original Star Trek television series and subsequent feature films.

James Doohan passed away at the age of 85 years, suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, in his home in Redmond, Washington. His last wish is to have his ashes blasted into outer space.
