For those of you keeping track, Artisan is about to release Stargate for the third time; this time promising a truly definitive ultimate final edition.

Like the previous release, Stargate: The Ultimate Edition will contain both the theatrical and extended cuts of the film, but this time in anamorphic widescreen with audio in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1. Also included will be an audio commentary with creators Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin. Also on board are trailers, featurettes, a photo gallery and filmographies.

Special features aside, the new anamorphic transfers mixed with a retail price of $19.95 should win over most fans when the new edition arrives on February 18th.
