Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment has announced Keith Gordon’s stirring anti-war drama A Midnight Clear for release in June, featuring Gary Sinise and Ethan Hawke.

Set in the snowy countryside of France, “A Midnight Clear” tells of an American intelligence squadron that finds a platoon of German soldiers on Christmas. The Nazi troops want to surrender rather than face defeat in one of the War’s final conflicts. Neither of the two sides knows whether to battle or come together, and as Christmas carols sail on the wind through the snowy forest, the film approaches an emotionally shattering conclusion.

The DVD debut of this 1991 movie will come in a fullscreen presentation – what’s up with that? – and feature the movie’s original mono audio track in English language. The disc will also contain a Commentary Track by writer/director Keith Gordon and actor Ethan Hawke. 10 Deleted Scenes will be found on the release as well, with optional director’s commentary, as well a selection of Bonus Trailers.
